Anyone know if the TdF 2013 is on freeview, or will I be finally forced to invest in a dish and Sky. Don't really want to but I think this years race will be epic. Actually, what about the Giro as well if Wiggo is targetting that?

No live feed on freeview, highlights and last 30 or so km on itv later in the evening. There are loads of Internet streams to watch it live though, but not hd quality sadly.
Cheaper option is to subscribe to Eurosport for a month and then download the player. Did this a couple of years ago, might do it again and I now have a smart tv so perhaps can get to download player app on my tv.

it was on ITV4 live last year, given the popularity I'd be surprised if at least some of the stages weren't this year

ITV did lots of coverage last year on their ITV4 channel, hopefully the same again this year .

I think the eurosport player is about four quid a month for phone or comp

We've got Eurosport player on the laptop. It's well worth it. Watched the Tirrreno-Adriatico stage yesterday and then straight over to recorded play of the last 25km of Paris Nice. All the classics, all the grand tours. If you pay for a year up front it works out to about £2.50 a month I think.

ITV4 was pretty good for the Tour last year, but it's great having the wider coverage from Eurosport.

ITV4 showed quite a few key stages in full last year. i see no reason they wont do the same this year.

They've been doing for some years now...

I think every stage last year was live on itv 4, even the vuelta was. If there was a clash with the ipl, tdf was itv4 Internet only. If thats not enough Steephill dot tv for all your road cycling streaming needs.

TdeF has been such a success for ITV4 they bought coverage of whatever else they could get their hands on, and launched a (much derided on here) Cycle Show.

+1 for eurosport player, watched Paris-Nice live with Tirreno in multiplayer window, then watched last few km of that live. Actually signed up to it last year to watch the cycling, and watched it less than we expected due to ITV4 showing more than we expected, but its cheap enough to be worth it over watching all the cheeky re-streams of dutch/belgian footage of stuff like flanders, Roubaix etc (which drop out, have foreign commentary etc) that steephill et al provide.

ITV4 was pretty good for the Tour last year, but it's great having the wider coverage from Eurosport

You dont have to listen to Phil Liggett, which is worth the asking price alone...
