You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I've got a tour planned of up to 7 days in a few eeks. Was initially thinking of riding round the Dales and then home (Sheffield). Carrying all my camping gear. Riding a MTB with panniers / racks and semi slicks.
If the trails / weather is good plan to do some well surfaced trails.
Alternatively, I might be able to do the coast to coast and then spend 4 days or so riding home from Newcastle.
I could stay with my folks one night near Bradford an figure I can ride home from there in a day.
So - Is there enough riding in the Dales to keep me happy at 50 - 75 miles a day?
Is the C2C a good ride, or more a 'Tick in the book'? How long should I allow to enjoy it? Is 2 days a speedy rate or relatively leisurely? If 3 days is 3 days from Newcastle using 'Traffic free' or quiet roads to Bradford possible (I guess so).
There is certainly enough if you do the Dales/Lakes which is realy a contiguous area to do 50/70 miles per day for a week. The C2C (sustrans) is all on quiet roads and a bit of a chore unless you do it in a day or with one hand tied behind your back etc.
