I've got an old steel Rockhopper I use as a tourer, commuter and everyday shopping bike.
Worn out/terminally knackered another set of wheels, so after some advice:
LX hubs still better than XT for heavy loads?
Was thinking of disc XT hubs in an attempt at future proofing, but not if it compromises strength.
Which rims?
Stick with 32 hole MTB rims (719's are a favourite on the MTB) or try something tougher?
Have been looking at Rigida Sputniks, but they may well be overkill.
Exal LX17's seem like a good compromise - anyone tried them?
