What are Mavic XC717 rims like ? Built on Hope Pro IIs with DT comp spokes - are they tough enough for the big guys to ride on? Thinking of 90kgs upwards

Any big people used them and can tell me about them?

Thanks in advance

I'm not big, but I am clumsy... I always found them to be good rims; mine stayed true without dings for several years before I swapped them for Crests.
Having said that, if you're riding gnarrrr at that weight, you might want to check out something a little tougher. And obviously, the standard line about quality of the wheel build does go in here too...

Depends what and where you ride. I'm that big and they were too skinny. Also depends how wide a tyre you want to run.

92kg here, have run mine over pretty much everything (minus jumps, big people can't jump!) with no ill effects. I will say that I feel sometimes my 2.25 nobby nics 'roll' on the rims a little, whicj my 2.0 mud x' don't but only went I really, really cock something up, so i guess thats the narrow width coming into it. I really rate them.
