Decided to get a Gravel bike, plan to use it for short commute, some weekend road riding (10-15miles flatish) & local gravel(ish) path, all will be mostly flat as recovering from health issue.
Narrowed it down to the Whyte Gisburn & Ribble CGR SL, dilemma is I like both and sure either will do what i need, Whyte has Alu frame & GRX 800 1x the Ribble has Full Carbon frame & GRX 600 1x, the weight dif i think is about 1kg which i don't think will make a dif.
So question is - Carbon frame vs better groupset?
Oops
Better frame and in time upgrade the group set. (or, in reality the shifter as that's the only bit that anyone really notices the difference with)
Lighter wheels. Frame doesn't make that much of a change, but lighter wheel is helluvalot of a difference.
Just found it myself changing stock Whyte Cornwall wheels into custom build lighties...
Cheers!

Having lifted both over gates go for the ribble
Thanks for replies
@jamesmio - the better frame being? I'm not sure if carbon or alu is better for a Gravel bike, especially as i won't be racing.
@IvanMTB - don't think there will be much between the fitted wheels, was thinking of getting a 2nd set which ever I choose.
@rOcKeTdOg - Was planning on riding not carrying 😛
In that case, of planned second wheelset, myself, as Whyte fanboi would go for... Ribble xD
Because of better rear wheel clearance.
Friend of mine, who is working in their showroom in Brum suggested to have a sit on the bike and try as apparently geo tables are somewhat ekhem... not exactly very precisely reflecting reality.
Just saying...
Cheers!
