My trusty second hand (off Classifieds here - lament) Gore-Tex shorts have started to delaminate after about 4/5 years and 100's of washes. Got some waterproof arse section ones, but after minimal totally waterproof ones. What do you run and recommend?

Buy Goretex trousers from surplus outlet.
Cut to length, hem and wear.

Or if you want something with a bit more style than a plastic bag.

Sweet mudrides
7 mesh revo
Another pair of gore

And I’ve been pretty impressed with a fairly cheap pair of Madison trousers I bought last year.

I've got some of the Race Face ones, Agent I think they're called. They do the job so I'm happy, but no experience of others (other than some very old Endura).

My Endura M500's have developed a tear after about a year, with not much riding in the rain.

In unrelated news, I've bought one of those guards that you jam into the seat rails.

The Polaris waterproof shorts I bought have been brilliant and fully waterproof.forget the name of them though. I say shorts but they are borderline 3/4 length! Worth taking them up a bit

Those Polaris with the braces look good.
Oldnpastit- I’ve used some tent repair patches on a self inflicted hole, put one each side and iron through a dishcloth to melt a bit. It’s styed put through a dozen or so washes so far.

I hate my mt500s. Pocket’s in a stupid place, the fit is stingy and whatever they’re made from is scratchy.

My Altura Attacks however are brilliant. Shame they’re no longer made.

also have the raceface agents. they do the job alright, totally waterproof and still going strong. (nevr been through the washer tho - i just hose em down) however the weather has to be pretty biblical for me to wear them tho because they are big, baggy and heavy! not too bad in winter with tights and pads on below but i wore them this weekend with naked knees and felt ridiculous.

My agents are great, but they are not 100% waterproof. Fend off most of it though.

+1 for Polaris waterproof shorts.
Think the ones I've got are AM Flux waterproof shorts.
£30 at the moment but only have a few sizes left.
