Thinking of organising a trip to torridon for a few days and would like to take the train up there getting off at Achnashellach station. How long on average would it take to cycle from the station to torridon? Looking at online maps there seems to be 2 ways to go, via Coulags then Annat or via Loch Coulin. Thanks

Either way would likely take you around 3 hours. Loch Coulin is by far the easiest/flattest/most rideable route and would be "better" if you were carrying much luggage.

Cheers scotroutes, I'd probably just post ahead some luggage as I'm planning on going for at least 2 to 3 days. Was more interested in how long each route would take as I've got to fit in with train times but if there both around 3 hours I could go either way. Has anyone who has stayed at the torridon youth hostel know if it has a secure bike store?

The youth hostel is pretty big - I'd have thought they'd have secure storage.

There's a bike shed yeah. Think it had a lock (mine was in van).

Pretty low crime area anyway.

😉
