What bike is best for this event. Full sus or hardtail? never ridden in this area and can't take both

Hardtail. A few roots here and there, but nothing that needs a full sus.

Ht for sure! Possibly FS for a little comfort but it needs to be light and locked out pretty much 95% of the time or it will sap your energy
