I need a new small pump, one that will fit on the frame or in a sadlebag, I won't always be wearing a cambelbak.
The Race Rocket looks good, but all the reviews I've read are from roadies. How well does it work as an MTB pump, is it designed for pressure over volume?
Cheers
John.
Buy a Blackburn Air-stick 2-stage instead. you'll need the patience of a saint and the arms of a gorilla to inflate an MTB tyre with the Topeak, I've tried and I have neither.
I've got one that I use on my road bike (long presta valves). It inflates the tyre well (80psi ish), but takes about 250 'pumps' & is therefore quite knackering.
I've never tried on it on my hardtail TBH. However, big fat tyre = a lot more air to be pumped? Therefore, would be even slower & more knackering IMHO.
Mind you, all small pumps would be the same. How about a CO2 type?
Had one - it's small, but slow. Get a Blackburn.
I've got some CO2 so the pump is a back up, I've got an old crank brothers thing that is similar in principle to the Air-stick 2-stage so I might just see if I can squeeze that in the bag and save my pennies.
