A work colleague this morning decides he fancies a bike.
He doesn't ride bikes full stop never mind off-road. Certainly doesn't do anything to warrant a bike like this.
Finds a large 2014 Yeti SB75 in local rag...top spec, looks amazing.
Seeing seller tonight for a look.
It's £675.
Surely there's something wrong with it...
It must be: a) Nicked B) Damaged (still underpriced) C) The seller has more money than sense.

Whaddya reckon?

There is only one answer to that question.

I wouldn't be turning up to that. He's either going to buy a stolen bike or he's going to lose £675 when he meets the local scumbags who are selling a non-existent Yeti.

Its a Yeti, the bearings will be cheese and now wobble in the frame giving him rear wheel steer, which will now have ovalised the frame so new ones wont fit 🙂

Nah, that was the 575. SB75 is fine. I hope.

That's definitely a dodgy ad though... Avoid.

It has me very curious nevertheless!
IF it is genuine I would def want it...not sure whether to mention any of this to said work colleague...the guy reckons he has receipts. I have his number from the ad but have so far resisted getting involved at all.

Gone cold on it now.
Spoke to colleague - the guy wanted deposit up front without it being viewed. 'Put £300 in my account now and we can negotiate on the price". WTF?
Address for his flat is a 5 bedroomed house.
Not on electoral roll at that address.
Can't be contacted.
Stinks so staying well away. Some poor sod is gonna get fingers burned by this scrote.

At least make sure the paper advertising it is aware of this. If the seller is up to no good then he's likely to want to get up to no good more than once.

Workmate has reported it to Gumtree.
The guy was a Billy Bullshitter - being really evasive and changing his story.
Ad taken down now.
It really WAS too good to be true after all - the little shit 👿
