Well done, I'd like a go on a fatty, one day.
Regarding the dining table, you're a brave man.

Everyone can ride a fatty 😯

Although... this is very very different to the on one... it doesn't seem to like corners!

Picture in the frame on the shelf to the top right of the first picture needs positioning properly.

You clearly like Orange..

Which, is no bad thing, I just don't get the several shades of orange.

Should all be the same IMHO.

Junk the standard tubes and replace with schwalbe free ride tubes.
They're 180 grams instead of the 700+ gram tubes which onone spec ( that's per tube )

I know some will think its pointless dropping wight from a fat bike but the difference is worth the couple of quid cost.

I rather like that. Not so sure about the fat head tube and skinny fork, but otherwise nice.

That is one of only two On One's I've ever seen that I actually wanted to own. (And I don't even particularly like fat bikes!). Nice one. 😀

I tried to lift one very similar at the BBB this year. My ol' back has never been the same since.
Funky looking machine though 🙂

I like it, saw a fatty (bike, not MAMIL) in my LBS on Saturday. They look different in the flesh to the magazines, more fun, I dunno how. I was very tempted to throw a leg over. [s]Un[/s]fortunately there aren't many sand dunes in Cleckhuddersfax so I can't justify it.

#likesthat

Neat bike, sure too many shades of Orange but hey when it's covered in mud and been mashed it'll look fine won't it.

🙄

Because sand is the only surface a fat tyre works on of course....

For some reason I just can't like the split top tube on those on one fatty's... If it was a single top tube I'd have probably given in and got one already. (wouldn't risk haven't it on the dining table though... lol)

Maybe use a few clips to tidy up the cable to the speaker on shelf, and the picture rail looks like it could do with dusting.

Nice looking bike though. Shame On-One have pulled their FB rolling chassis bundle.

Seat clamp is on the wrong way round.

Apart from that very nice.

How long did the rims take?

Did they need much "finishing" after drilling?

Rims - 2 bikes worth, 3 people, 4 hours.
And a fair amount of tidying up 🙂

Worth it though 😉

Weight saving and cosmetic 😉

What was the build cost?

£1200, including all the stuff to make SS, 1x10 & 2x10 - and lots of savvy shopping!

Being out of touch and all that,

What's the point of a bike with balloon tyres if you don't live in an area of sand dunes or deep snow?

Is it just the latest fad?

yeah thats right its a fad 🙄

only been around about 6-7 years,

this year with spesh, trek, nicolai, genesis, charge, joining surly, 9zero7, fatback, salsa in making fatbikes

move on I wouldnt bother, they are getting far too common

I know - Ive got 2 !

I wasn't planning to bother.

Where suits these balloon-tyred bikes?

not many places really only

mud
rocks
marshland
sand
snow
bogs
gravel
soil
stubble fields

and anywhere that suits your skinny tyred mountain bike too

Mine so very nearly built, buying power spline crank for howitzer bb has slowed down completion a bit though....
Did enjoy drilling the wheels out.

Love it (even if it says On One on the down tube!)

Even more so now you've drilled the rims and the Orange rim tapes are adding to the orangeyness that everyone else seems to dislike. But then this used to be one of my bikes, and I felt it could have done with more Orange...

[img] [/img]

Twin top tubes too... That'll be useful for carrying a barrel or two home from the pub/brewery. No longer limiting yourself to the 3 litre capacity of your camelbak any more! 😉

Given that a cyclocross bike could also be ridden on most of those surfaces, and quite quickly on some, would a balloon-tyred bike be preferable to a 2-2.5"-tyred bike on anything other than sand or deep snow?
