According to Planet X for my new frame I will need a ZS44/28.6 IS56/40.
I'm not finding an IS 56 anywhere.
Pictures of the complete bike show a very slim bottom cup.
Do I really need a readily available ZS56?

I'd guess it's a mis-print. They're normally ZS (zero stack, so very shallow, with bearings inside the frame), or EC (external cup, much deeper as the bearings sit below the frame).

I've had similar with PX; they show a set of dimensions and then a headset model that's different
For the JF 25-year version they suggest, "This headset is an ideal replacement for the FSA Orbit 1.5 ZS 57", which is ZS top and bottom
Their chat-thing worked well in my case 🙂

As above, it's not a great pic, but...

If you can see half an inch of cup, it's EC (external cup). If there's about an eighth of an inch, it's ZS (zero stack) if there's nothing visible pressed into the headtube, it's IS (integrated standard).

Definitely ZS, you've searched for something that doesn't exist, like big foot, nessy and god 😀
