Off to some of the local woods for a Winter (other hemisphere) Mini DH Series.

Format is 2 events with 2 tracks per day. Today was day 1. A massive field of 23 made it and most categories were contested.

Great fun cost about £20 with BBQ and Cake 🙂

Possibly made better by the fact that I take a 5s lead into next months race in the Over 30's Cat.

All them months of Strava training mush have paid off

How do you follow the course?! It looks to be an endless succession of unmarked junctions!

Looks fun, but looks like it'd be quicker on an XC bike!

You paid £20 to ride that. Hope the cake was good.

Cake was good

Yep the tape was a little on the thin side and some junctions were marked with branches but it was still fun.

Not quite faster on an XC bike though 150mm was about spot on.

For timing, organisation and first aid cover £20 isn't bad.

Couple of fun little tracks - not quite the wealth of tracks and racing as in the UK - as a grass roots race it attracted 23 riders. The state rounds get up to 50. Even the mainland stuff is less than most UK races.

The plus sides were everyone went home unhurt, a 11 yo lad got his first race in and some people got there first taste of timed riding.

Edit# Better quality Vid of both tracks
