and the many sizes for '180s' - 180/183/185 😈

But only after spending a couple of hours fiddling with a 180mm Formula calliper trying to sit properly with an '180' Avid rotor. I eventually I realised the rotor 185mm.

I had to shim it, Is this wise?

I always shim my calipars to get them to on the max diameter of the disc and have never had any problems and at least that way you are getting the max from both parts of the brakes.

Yeah, same thing happened to me when I bought some new Elixir 5s with the hs1 rotors. They are 180 whereas the old Elixir & Julies I have, have 185 rotors. Wanted to fit the new rotors to the fancy bike & put the rotors from that to the Inbred.

Wouldn't work in the end as the caliper & rotors aren't compatible. Could have shimmed the caliper I s'pose but couldn't be bothered.
