Planning on taking my girls to see it on sunday - is there much of a promo caravan like the TdF, and any idea roughly how far in advance of the riders. Don't think they'll stand for hours waiting.
It was about 25 minutes between the first outriders and the peloton today in Lllandrindod.Not much bar the commentators car and team support vehicles.
no promo, like TDF, was sat 2hrs waiting in Caerphilly.

20-50 meters from the end of the feed zone is where the promo/hedge rummaging occurs for freebies. Just for standing at our spot we got 2 Orica bottles, 1 Saur, 1 Maxi Fuel, & a Rapha team car lobbed an SIS bottle with a sachet of GO and a gel inside.
There seems to be a somewhat experienced bunch of 'swag' gatherers though who race up the verge literaly just after the cyclist have passed hoovering up mussets and bottles.

What a bunch of sad ****s.
Basically just a massive procession of motor cycle outriders, then the Skoda commentator's car and that's about it. No motorised eclairs or coke cans, no devils on bicycles and no promo girls lobbing stuff at you. Still - it was very exciting when the riders and team cars came past 🙂
Depending on the pace the road will be closed about 15 mins before the first riders arrive.
Convoy is something like :-
Police motorbikes x loads, Marshalls motorbikes x loads, 1 x Met police X5, paramedic motorbike,commentaters Yeti, blackboard motorbike, TV motorbike x2, lead riders, team cars (depending on gap) pelaton, loads more team cars, ambulance, doctors A3 convertable (nice car) more skodas, VW Transporter with a Broom sticking out of it 😕 RAC van, Police X5 again
Oh and look up for the helicopter....Ive seen the race twice this week and am pretty sad at vehicle spotting.... 😳
