I've ordered a 2012 kashima coated fox float 140 rlc fit but delivery may not be till march cos of stock issues uk wide, but I can get the non kashima coated 2011 model tomorrow for £175 less. What would u do? I'm going to cwm carn mid march so want them for that really, bike is perfectly usable as it is but stock forks are heavy and 125mm. Other suppliers do have it in stock but will only see for top money.
I'd wait. If you go for the 2011 fork, every time you look at it you'll end up wishing you'd got the Kashima coat instead. Mojo will retro coat any Fox fork with Kashima, but I think this costs more than the £175 price difference you mention. It's also a lot of hassle to go to, when you could just buy a fork with it on in the first place.
2011 has kashima coating. The only difference IIRC is the SKF seals which can be got for ~£30 odd.
Kashima was optional on the 2011, this one hasn't got it 🙁
Just ask yourself how much difference will it make and will I really notice it?
Can I use the £175 better elsewhere?
All that is shiny is not always gold as an old saying goes 😆
In 3 years time you only want next years anyway. I'd save me £175.
