Just bought a pair of TLR (tubeless ready) Bontrager tyres. The note on the outer casing says you need to use either a tube or sealant. How does that constitute being tubeless ready? Surely with that definition every tyre is tubeless ready? What am I missing?

Thicker sidewalls, stronger bead. There are plenty of tyres that don't work tubeless.

The difference is a UST tyre does not need sealant. However, UST are normally more expensive, and heavier, than TLR.
