I have tried on some Skylines and they are a good fit but was wondering how much different the Ruckus are?

Is the liner much better? I see it has a better pad apparently but is it just a better pad in the same liner?

The price difference is £30 so quite substantial.

I have both. The Ruckus is slightly tougher, has a zipped pocket. The liner is quite nice. My skylines didn't have a liner so can't really compare, but the Ruckus are the ones I always end up wearing because that zip pocket is so handy for a key and phone.

Do the Ruckus have enough pocket space for keys, mobile, gels & bars?

And are they long enough to avoid ****-gappage?

I'm a fan of the Ruckus, probably my favourite short. It's a lot less boxy in style than the current Skyline. Also longer.

They have a few zipped pockets so can carry everything I need. Never use the pad as I dont wear them anyway. Long enough for me at 6'2" wearing a 32" to not get the punter gap too 🙂

New Skyline also has a zip pocket too. Maybe I should try both and see what fits better.

Found the liners fit quite low on me but guess I’m used to wearing higher fitting boxers lol.

Sounds good cheers hob nob, do they come up big in terms of waist size? I'm a 33 so would I want a 32 or 34?

I found the newer skylines seemed to have got shorter in the leg.

Just ordered a pair for £60 with liner from Merlin.

Reasonable selection of sizes left.

Size wise look at the sizing chart, apparently the marked.size is two inches smaller than the actual waist size! I may kid myself I'm a 32 waist (and I would be if I lost some chubb) but in both Troy Lee and Fox I have to get a 30 for a decent fit. Love the Ruckus shorts, only improvement would be zips on both hip pockets

Sod it. Will order the orange ones. Give it a month and everything will be the same colour of mud anyway. Plus they are £42 cheaper than the black so £84 saving if I get 2 pairs!

My colour coordinated outfit will look class... to a colour blind person.

I got a pair of yellow Terrain shorts which I believe is the previous model, they are a pain to keep clean, I wish I had read the reviews. I was going to go for the orange Ruckus but my wife adviced me against it..

So ordered the 2018 Ruckus in Orange and to be safe the Skyline in black.

Ruckus seems better in every way.

Nicer fit and no Velcro fly. Was worried as I’m at the larger end of where I want to be weight wise the zipper might come down but it seems the double popper does a stellar job of keeping that in place.

Also, the pad in the liners is a real step up too and much better material.

So as much as I might look ridiculous with matching shorts and helmet, for £60 I don’t really care! Black ones were £104!

Got mine today, great fit, great finish and great looks.
I also bought ixs flow, dakine syncline and sweet protection.
Gonna keep the tld and maybe one of the others.
To my surprise they are all made with soft stretchy fabric, I was expecting something similar to Terrains, which I love, it’s a bit more stiff and tough. Terrains were discontinued but I don’t think TLD has a similar model in their current lineup.

Got mine too, liner is a good fit but baggies just a bit too loose.

I can tell they'll annoy me by slipping down a bit while riding.
