Recently bought a good used Ritchey 29er,

lovely bike but in hindsight and now having tried a few times, as a 17" it feels too small for me and my son who share use it. I was looking at a slightly bigger Titus Fireline titanium frame on Planet X atm for £540 and swapping all the parts over as it's 135mm qr rear end, BSA bb, external cables/hoses etc. Then flogging the Ritchey frame to offset the cost. Worth doing? The Ritchey has straight carbon 1 1/8" forks so presume I'd need an adaptor for the Titus lower headset?

Or, any other hardtail frames out there worth a look (non boost, as above)? A large 19" Ritchey P29er frame would be ideal but can't find any for sale. Cheers

Ahhhh man, you bought that Ritchey! I was sooooo close to pulling the trigger on that beauty!

You're going to need a couple of different parts and components, it may or may not make sense. You'll need a 1.5 to 1 1/8th crown race for certain if you're keeping the Ritchey rigid fork (may make sense to leave the 1 1/8th Ritchey fork with the frame, and buy a new 1.5 specific fork perhaps). You're going to need a new seatpost too, or a shim to take the 27.2 to 31.6mm (i'd say new seatpost myself, my experience of shims isn't great). Also, back on the subject of the fork, have you checked the steerer tube would be long enough? It's quite a long headtube on the Titus, and it uses external cups too...

Thanks mboy, have a spare seatpost no problem, the fork steerer is long on this Ritchey with loads of spacers but yes I'd better check Titus measurement first..
