Hi, in my shed there is a 26er Motolite (not much use at all) with a carbon rear that has a alu bridge on the rear wheel

the bridge has come loose, the right hand stay, it moves slightly meaning the whole rear moves when you twist it by hand.

I have sent a highly trained athlete out on it aka the Test Monkey aka SO who said she could not feel it move and ohhh it is rather a nice bike......

are there any fixes?

All the other cables stops seem to be riveted, could this be done and if so by whom?

or do I salvage/sell it in parts? Though not seeing much call for 26 parts?

Thanks

A relatively common fault with those rear ends. Titus just bonded them back in again.

So how would I do that and what would I use? The movement is less than a cm, so would I just knock it up and then bond/glue back?

Carbon Bike Repair in Dorking may be able to recommend something.

I used epoxy type stuff from B and Q on mine. Worked a treat.

any type of epoxy stuff? Brand or what works best?

DO I just try a bond that side - given the movement in less than a cm or do I try and take the bridge off and then rebond?

I would use a 2-part epoxy like Araldite. Do the loose side and some on the other to re-inforce. I wouldn't take the bridge off - try and do it in-situ. Make sure its nice and clean before you do.

If you have the confidence to do so I would also drill and put a rivet in either side.
