Any ISCG (old, not 05 as the On-One site still states) will fit.

My wonky frame arrived today. The ISCG mount, despite the web site saying its out, appears fine to me. My guide dropped straight on.

My rigid Swift feels much smoother over roots etc than the 26" rigid sanderson it replaced, with more grip too. So from that I'd extrapolate that 29er 'feels' like it's got about 2-3" more suspension than it does over rough stuff. So a 29er with 100mm travel would feel like it had much more than it's 26" stablemate.

But it doesn't have the suspension which means 2 things:
1) Drops still hurt like they do on a short travel bike
2) It's faster pedaling as you're only bobbing that short travel.

Takes time to get used to though. At first I though it was just different, felt slower, unresponsive etc. Now I ride a 26" and it feels choppy and unnececeraly hard work, and slow, like you're having a really bad day on the bike whereas the 29er just flows from one thing to the next.

Ok so if I am riding a hardtail over my fullsus for the same reason but to make my trails feel more exciting then I should not be looking to get a 29er unless I am going for speed?

Gee76, like chuffnuts I'm 6' and an 18" is spot on for me with a 50mm stem and 760mm bar. You could probably go 18 or 20 at 6'2".

Just a FYI. For those expecting decals, don't. Apparently these are sold "as raw" and thus no decals. Not very clear on the site, but On-One have just told me this via email. A bit weird, 'cos when I bought my 456 it was "blue" but still had decals. Can't complain to much at the price though, just would have been nice to know (and now you do).

Oh yeah "Jall" (or anyone... can you point me in the direction of the FSA headset you mentioned...

you can use the lower cup of this headset to use a tapered fork of 140 without change the geometry of the bike, it wil be interesting if someone has tried if the dials of the fork could impact with the frame in this configuration..

the warranty?? the overall length of th headset and the 120 fork is the same than with this headset an a 140 fork tapered so i don,t see the trouble

Well I just ordered the second to last 20". I'm 6' and I have an Inbred in that size and it fits with a 100mm stem, so with a 60 or 80 the Evo should be good. My other bike is an Ellsworth Evolution with a 635mm top tube which handles well so I can't see a 600mm fitting.

not yet - still assembling parts. Was a bit of an impulse purchase, tbh - I normally just move all the bits from an existing build across but all of my other bikes bar one are 26" so it's more complex.

It's got a lovely, strokable, finish on it though. Buy it just for that...

Haha, sorry again bout that. Looks like someone has done me a favour now anyway. 20" all gone again. But yeah I'd have built wheels for it too so would prob had been a while building it up and tracking down a rev or sid 29 deal.

My ti456 is still very strokeable and has just had a few new bits so content for a bit anyway.... Ahhhh.

Still let us know how it goes, it appears I can't gel coming back here...

Got my Fileline yesterday and very nice it is too!

Bit of an impulse buy (like a lot of people I think!) so it will be a while before it comes together, but the basics will be some Flow rims on some American Classic hubs I have, probably 1x10 and possibly some Manitou Tower Pro forks which look quite nice for the money...

Gee, the fireline will replace my ti456 if I buy one.....29" is better for me by miles. My 456 feels like it stalls on all rock and roots after jumping off my Helius 29er....

Ahh TLR, a fellow sympathiser... that is almost a fear here too. What if it put me off my ASR5 too and I love it!. What is it that tempts you with a 29er HT?

This is probably the only ht to turn my head from the 456ti in 3 years and only then for the rumoured 29er added comfort, reverb compatibility, Otherwise it's a similar bike pretty much.

. Should I be worried about a loss of maneouverability and fun factor over the Ti456 I guess?.

hi, i,ve been riding 29 for the last two years, rm altitude 29er and rm hammer 29er, with a salsa cromoto or a suspension fork, a turner sultan, voodoo soukri, chumba hx2 and breezer lightning with rigid fork, so something has learned about handling and building a 29, this is a strange geo, really short chainstays and good seattube angle, and slack angle of direction, so don,t know exactly what to expect of this frame.... it, really different to all the others i have owned..
if you want a lively ride expend money on yours wheels... if the wheels are light and fast engagement hubs it will help a lot...
my wheelsets are chris king, marwiti spokes and notubes rims, with credt it weights 1500 grams, with arch about 1700... and with 32 spokes of 2 mm there,s no trouble of flex...
with tyres i prefer no troubles, maxxis ardent lust or crossmark depending on wich wheel and wrather, but here at barcelona, in spain usually the floor is dry....
my first option to build it is with 100 mm fork...
i expect have been useful... sorry of my english...

Ta Jalll, advice appreciated. I can fill in the gaps and your English is better than my Spanish. I've ridden the sierra Nevada a bit so know what you mean about dry trails. Only ridden a Sultan over garburn in the lakes on demo and a mini unit ss rigid for 2mins. Think I just need to think a bit more about the intended use for my bikes. I'll get there with right decision.

Good point about wheels. Was thinking along lines of dt 350 or 240 hubs with arch ex rear and maybe a pacenti tl28 front so should be nice n light.

I'll keep on pondering and coming back...like a moth to a flame eh!

I have had one of these in my basket several times without pressing th button. Mainly because I want to run it s/s and am unsure of my best options.

I'm in the gang! Swapping my Ti 456 for a Fileline. I've got my frame, fairly set on the CRC Revelation forks and 2x10 2013 SLX. Wheels are a sticking point tho, can't be more than £350 so I'm thinking Stans Arch ZTRs, Flows on Hope or American Classic. Thoughts? I'm 6'2" and around 95kg so not looking for anything too spindley.

BTW anyone want a 20" Ti 456 (Lynskey)??

I'm 6'2" and around 95kg so not looking for anything too spindley.

6'4" and 87kg finding am classic XCs to be great on my XC bike. Very stiff, very light, taken some abuse (a week in the very rocky Torridon). A fireline's a bit heavier duty bike than I have though, so would maybe consider the arches/flows.

Bought a 40t MRP XCG in ISCG for mine and discovered the guides are not in alignment. £43 down the drain.

A mark 2 with fixes for these issues would be good ASAP. Feels a bit like being a test rider TBH. Says a lot about the ride that I've no intention of dropping it tho.

Bought a 40t MRP XCG in ISCG for mine and discovered the guides are not in alignment. £43 down the drain.

Well my seattube seems more like 32mm internal, maybe Brant should give us a partial refund 😉

It's a shame OO seem to only sell the old style headtube badge and not the new one that the full price FLEs come with. Doesn't seem right sticking the old one on a new frame. Also don't have the replaceable dropouts available yet. Ho hum.

To the chap complaining about his ISCG mount being out. They do say the cheap ones are, though only in a picture and not in the main text where it still incorrectly states ISCG05 (I'll stick the word Brant in here do this comes up in his vanity search ;)). Seat tubes are baggy yes, but carbon grip and a good collar work for now. Long term I reckon I'll need to ream it and glue on a shim. We'll see. It was cheap I guess. American cheap too sadly.

this new trouble with the seat tube it, s starting worrying me.... i will use a gravity dropper with a shim and maybe it gives me trouble?? have ordered a thomson seatpost clamp ... i hope it will works ok...

Quick Q on fork length.

I got one of the cheapy 140mm RCT3 revalations that CRC are knocking out to go on my frame.

[s]the on-one site/brant said frame is designed around a 543mm a-c fork - the revelations at 140mm are 548mm a-c (from what I can see on google). [/s]

Or should I just give them a go and then shim down if it's all a bit crap?

You won't die, no. You;ll just have a higher front end and a slacker head angle. You may prefer that. You may void your warranty too, ask OO if you care.

The fork comes with two 10mm spacers which you can put onto the spring rod easily enough. Its worth stripping and lubing a new RS work anyway. Mine were very dry 🙁 Only take 10mins to lube and add the spacers in.

I'll probably shim them - they did come with the spacers, as you say.

Was just feeling a bit lazy and I always panic when it comes to trying to work out which forks use what type and weight of oil...

Oil is easy. Print this, laminate it, and fix it to the wall of your shed.

I might be a little special when I'm in my shed, true 😛
