Hi all, as above really.
Set up my tyres tubeless in Autumn, and I'm looking at putting on a faster rear tyre for summer.
Does anyone have any tips for making this as pain free as possible?....
Bontrager Flash Charger seems to be the winner at the moment
1) Take old tyres off.
2) Put new tyres on, add sealant and air.
3)Put air in (methods may vary).
Depends on the tyre/rim/strip combination etc to be honest.
Specialized seem to be the process neil mentions, DD Ralphs.. add in hour of sweat, frustration and tourettes...coupled with soapy water.
Second set of wheels!
After six months any sealant may have dried up which makes the process a whole lot less messy, best take old tyres off the rim outside and not in the house just in case 🙂
Take off one bit of the tyre making sure its at the bottom so the liquid doesn't.come out.
Get some kind of syringe (I have a stans no tube injector which does the job) take out those lumpy bits and suck the sealant to use again.
Take tyre off, wipe rim, put new tyre on. If you have the values with removable cores and the injector its nice and easy.
It's easy regardless. Remove tyre, hang up. Fit new tyre. Pour sealant from old tyre into new. Add splosh of new sealant. Fit tyre. Pump. Hope.
New tyre will be easy. It's when they're old and baggy it's more of a pain.
