nah the 780's fit fine it's at least a metre in the narrowest...
I like to have a bit of platform to stand on for my gnarpoon, not just a straight clip so at least you can stand on the pedals after you unclip.

That was with mallets, the unclip/slip happened at the wrong moment and flicked my weight forward at the point you need to go backwards... Ended up just being a comedy fall with a few scrapes but definitely time to wind it in a little.
