Have done it on an XTR mech no hassle, remove cover, release clutch, pop the little wrench off, and use that, then clip the wrench back on, close it up, job done.

Trying to do the same on a couple of Saint mechs though,. and found that the little wrench doesn't seem to want to come off - didn't want to force it, so tightened with a pliers instead - is the Saint a different setup? The "wremch" seems to curve around under the bolt.

I thought that it was only XTR that had the removable wrench as people hadn't been putting them back properly and knackering them. You need a spanner or pliers I believe, you certainly do for my XT.

That it does.

Amused at folks not putting it back. Golden rule - if you have parts left over after reassembly, you've done it wrong 🙂
