Sorry, tight cassette. Bought some used Roval wheels & attempted to remove the cassette from the old rear wheel.
Not happening, had the (home made, mild steel bar) chain whip with a scaffy bar on, with my Mrs standing on it & an 18” flexi bar & socket on the other end. Managed to twist the chain whip bar but that was all. Had to resort to the LBS for help.
Thanks to Moonglu in Ripon for having a massive Record vice.
Anyone else had to give up what should be a regular fix?
I had a screw on White Industries freewheel which seized onto the threads after an especially wet and muddy ride.
In the end I threw it away and rebuilt the rim onto a new hub.
I pretty much gave up single speeding after that.
Had a 20mm front axle that I couldn't get out. My early days of mountain biking before I knew better. Obviously the bearings had just siezed to the axle. Brought it to the LBS, big whack of a mallet, job done 🙂
