Having a real struggle to reinstall a set of these cranks. They are the outboard bearing type(like hollow tech 2). The non drive side is held onto the axle with a small black plastic bolt. On refitting its almost as if the axle is too short with the non drive side crank arm fitted the bolt only turns, 2/3 rotations before spinning out and stripping off the plastic thread?
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Make sure the the driveside crank arm is fully pushed through by giving it a good hit. The black 'bolt' is only used to preload the bearings - finger tight. The non-driveside crank arm is held onto the axle using the pinch bolts, not the preload cap.
As Simon says. The plastic bolt is just for preload, the pinch bolts hold it on
Thanks all,
Tried to torque up the pinch bolts to quoted settings. Fingers crossed.
