You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Sorry folks, this may have been done a hundred times, but what are your thoughts on the best current road frames around the £1k/£2k budget?
I need something with a stiffer bb area.
Current thoughts are:
Lynskey R230
Litespeed Xicon
Litespeed Archon (may be too pricey but seems superb)
Any other suggestions?
Spin Cycle Works look pretty impressive and would be getting my money
Burls - Custom built. If you are in Southampton you're welcome to try mine out. Super stiff around the BB / rear triangle but rides great.
Sabbath Silk Road or any of the other line up
My mate has just built up a
spin spitfire very pretty
bike great value too.
I gambled on american ebay
and bagged a moots compact
with edge forks and kking
headset for £1200 it's mint.
Did 60 miles on my old lite-
speed sienna yesterday, so
ti for road is good!
Get on carbon; Ti is way over-rated.
Out of interest how do they stiffen a Ti welded frame, is it size or shape?
Enigma ftw

Tends to be tube profiling, downtube and seat tube junction gets beefed up
I like the idea of Sabbath, but when I browse their images their frames just dont hit the spot for me.
Ill check out the other suggestions above, cheers.
anyone with experience of the Litespeed Xicon?
Enigma or maybe go for brian rourke 953 instead
