Anyone been across the Thursley and Hankley Commons recently? I'm thinking that after all the dampness we've had that the sandy sections will have, erm, damped down nicely instead of being like a dune. I don't fancy it if it's waterlogged. I usually do an easy ride from Godalming train station and back with lunch at Elstead. Anyone been out there lately?

Just got back from a ride.....all good. Wouldn't you be better off going to Milford station and crossing over to Thursley Common via Rodborough Common?

Been there today. All good. Sand rideable. Limited muddy bits. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info guys. @Snooze I haven't tried it from Milford Station. There's a bridleway (Fox Way) from outside Godalming Station that takes me most of the way and I cross over the A3 onto the common just west of Milford. I couldn't work out a route avoiding busy roads from Milford Station.

Does anyone have any decent routes around Hankley or Thursley?

I'm plannign on heading over that way for some riding when the weather improves but don't know the area at all.

Could visit the Alantic Wall whilst you are on Hankley Common.

Been riding round this area for 25 years I am still teasing out some nice single track sections

A sunny day and some easy riding across Thursley Common, with coffee and cake in Elstead.
