Hi Chaps,

There's been a few threads recently about no-so-good service at other bike shops, and thought I'd chip in with some excellent service from a good bike shop.

My DBInline on my Enduro 650b isn't working right. I sent an email to Bikescene (who I bought the bike from), asking if I could have a different shock altogether as it gets a poor rep overall.

This resulted in an offer of a free swap to a Monarch Plus Debonair RC3 or a very small amount of money for an Ohlins Coil.

I must have sent about 10 emails to them afterwards, (I would normally call, but was in office hours) and each time got a reply within 5 minutes. Every reply was incredibly friendly and asking what they could do to help - and in a few cases going off to talk to Specialized for me.

And now they're sending out the new shock to me at the same time as I send mine to them, so I don't miss out on any riding.

They were great with the original sale, and great with backup service. Definitely will be getting my money in the future too.

Ricks

Craggsy again. Good shop, been using them as my LBS for 19-20 years even though I've never lived closer than 35 miles away. I'm only about 45 miles away now & still it's my 'LBS'.
Fantastic service.

rickon - did you go for the Ohlins? I think I would have! My mate killed 2 ccdb inlines on his enduro 29er and ended up with a monarch plus, great that they are sorting you out and that your lbs is being so helpful.

Didn't go for the Ohlins, as can't really find any real info about it. If it behaves like a normal coil it'll be rubbish for climbing. Considering I have to do about 1000m of climbing to get in about three runs, Id prefer the all round ability of the Monarch. If it had a climb switch like the CCDB Coil, then I would.

I've been using Bike Scene for a few years now & every time I call with a request they're straight on to it & nothing is too much bother.

I'd highly recommend them, & as for Ohlins suspension, if they can design anything to perform at the level of there World Superbike Moto GP & moto cross suspension ( Which I did for 12 years) then I think they might stand a chance of building a good mtb shock.

Another +1, I've got my last 3 bikes, and my other half's latest from there (despite now living over 150 miles away!). Great bunch of folk there, super friendly and always helpful.

Just to resurrect this - the guys didn't get my shock from Specialized until a bit later than expected, and they needed by frame yoke - that all arrived on a Thursday, and they turned it around so that I got the shock on Friday before the weekend so I could ride.

Nice to get awesome service 🙂

A few weeks ago my lad went in & they said they'd have a quick look at his forks which had lost air after being serviced by them a week or so earlier. He was hungry & asked where he could get a snack while he was waiting, Andy gave him a pasty! (& fixed the fault under warranty while he waited)

Another thumbs up here. No where close to me so have never visited but did spend a lot of money on a frame and wheels and the service was first class. Always helpful and took time to answer email queries quickly. If they opened a branch down south they would be my lbs.
