My car (XC60) has flush roof rails with a gloss black finish. I am trying to decide between a new Volvo rack or buy a new fitting kit for my existing slidebars. The Volvo rack has very good protection for the roof rails, the fittings are covered in rubber throughout but the Thule kit has plastic coated clamps but seem more point contact. Has anyone experienced any paint damage on roof rails with Thule fixings?
