Hey can anyone give me some advice. I'm after a thule 561 for my road bike and mtb which has a 15mm maxle. Can i use this bike carrier for both ?

YEs, but you need to swap out the QR adapter and swap in the 15mm

Thanks it's just because i went into a shop this morning and they rang thule up and said i couldn't but i thought you could

You can stew but its a bit of a ball ache, could you get a couple of rack second hand maybe? Be easier having two racks than swapping out adaptors all the time

Unless they've changed the design, the Thule 561 will only work with a 20mm maxle. Thule supply a tube with an internal diameter of 20mm, so you just can't use a 15mm system - Fox, Maxle or otherwise.

So you either use the tube for 20mm thru axle forks or you use it with the locking handle for qr setup.

I've got one and have not been able to use it with my Fox 32's.

You can buy an adaptor (not made by Thule) that uses the Thule QR mount to mount a bracket with a 15mm tube welded to it, but I think they were ~£30.
