At the weekend I briefly rode a HT with a Thudbuster post std rather than LT .... I think.

I was amazed by its magic carpet qualities. I have used in line shock posts before but didn’t find them all that useful.

I would be interested in thoughts and views from users of the posts.

I would be interested in getting one – not for everyday use but maybe for when in the saddle for longer than 4 or so hours.

Appreciate that they are heavy, unsightly etc but that aside .....
🙂

I used to have one of these and I loved it. Only got rid of it as I wanted a dropper seatpost. I still miss it though, wish someone would come up with a dropper/suspension combined design.

I have the LT, and love it.

It takes all the sting out of my mmmbop for longer rides.. TBH I reckon the ST would be enough, and for less of a weight penalty.

Actually the benefits far outweigh the slight weight disadvantage anyway, but as 'packer' says, a dropper/ST combo would be great!

I have had two USE posts and really liked them.
Just enough to take the edge off things on long rides.
The design could be a lot better though,so I am now looking at a Thudbuster ST.

I used to have an LT on my old Hardtail and thought it was great. I've still got it in the garage as i thought i'd put in on something else but as yet i haven't. I bought the XL 27.2 version so i'd be able to put it onto anything in the future. Once it's on you don't really notice how well it works until you try a rigid post again and then the difference is very apparent.

Now i'm thinking about it i may try it on my Honzo as i'm at full extension on my Thomson and the Thudbuster is 450mm long so should be a bit better (assuming it stays put with a shim which in my experience is 50/50).

Not tried the ST version but the newer Fargo's come with one - i've never tried it on my older Fargo.

I was thinking this the other day. On the trail, a hardtail is excellent fun as you're stood up for most of the time. It's only really on chattery or lumpy long climbing slogs e.g. south downs way that I long for a full suspension frame.

I also have an LT which used to be on my mmmBop, although I now have a Reverb as well. I really like it as above - good for longer rides and mine has been pretty much fit and forget, I also have the CC Neoprene cover which is good for keeping the mud off the bearings etc.

Took a few rides to get used to the movement, but it doesn't creak as much as the bloody Reverb, and TBH it's probably going back on.

Got mine from Bike24 for a good price.
