Fancied one of these for my rigid steel Charge Cooker, looked on the website & I've seen the price!!!!! Bit of a shock still fancy one 😆 . Does anyone use one? What elastomers do you use? I'm an ex-rugby boy & was wondering if they'll be ok with my size(6' 2 & 17-18 stone).

Thank you to all the oracles on the STW forums who might provide me with the info I long for...........

Going for a ride now 🙂

I used the short travel version a while back. I was very impressed with how it worked, can;t advise on the elastomers though as it was a while back.

I was surprised how stable they seemed to be, it certainly helped to soften the ride of my then hard tail but it didn't bob all over the place when sat down pedalling. I did choose the short travel version specifically because of this concern.

It did seem to suffer from a bit of play in the pivots quite quickly although as I recall spares were readily available.

I use a carbon seatpost instead to good effect (about 0.75 cm fore and aft travel). But would not rule one out. Thudbusters are popular on the back of tandems, where the stoker can take big hits due to the pivot about the front wheel. Better than they have any right to be, not as good as FS. I'm sure they'll take your weight but you will want a firm elastomer.

Use the short travel one on the back of the tandem with the lightest elastomers as it's for my wife/children. Seems to work really well at taking the lumps and is way more smooth that the USE thing I had before.

Black and black or 1 black, 1 purple are what I use on mine.
