Hi Folks,
Haven't found anything searching the forum so, and can't find many clear options searching on google..
I have a 12mm x 142mm 1.5 pitch Prime thruaxle from CRC. It has a floating washer on the non thread end. The floating washer has lost it's ability to float, so removing the axle it is grinding on the bare carbon fibre of the frame.
Has anyone found any other good thru axles with a floating washer that is not a Prime one. Can't seem to see any DT or Maxle one's with a floating washer.
TIA
Bump - hoping to catch a few of you before beer o'clock
Rear axles are often frame make and model specific.

If you could use that to find exactly which type you're after and post it here, someone might be able to find you a cheaper/local source.
Thanks Kelvin, have tried that, but that doesn't seem to give me a wole lot of options for an ORRO frame, and the one recommendation doesn't have a floating washer - so not a benefit over the Prime

Perhaps another ORRO owner will be along to offer better help. Can you change the heading in your original post to mention it's for an ORRO frame? Only photos I can see of their original axles show no washer... is it removable or captive on the axle?

It's probably best to provide us with a photo of what you have. Surely you just need a new washer, or to fix whatever is wrong with the one you have?
Can you just find a washer to go between the axle and the frame, I used to do that with an old bike when the axle was digging into carbon
Oneup r axles use a spacer under the head of the axle.
Brand-X thru axles have the floating washer, at least the stealth ones.
Thanks folks, I'll take a look at the BrandX and OneUp ones.
I bought the frame as an ex-display (very reasonably) and built it up myself. The Prime axles were Orro's recommendation. While it's for an Orro, it's a standard fitting.
The washer on the rear axle stopped rotating (did I over-torque it slightly?) and has loosened up w some GT85 and grease, but not confident it's totally OK so looking at alternative options.
So an update if anyone is interested - all the Brand-X and OneUp, while looking loverly, didn't have relevant sizes for road bikes. Wolftooth either.
Ended up opting for a Robert Axle Project one after all, from SJS.
