Anyone know where I can get one for my Vitus Energie? I can't for the life of me find it on the CRC website and it looks like I need one like the Kinesis (the threads of the axle - 12mm x 1.5 - sit flush in the frame not clear of it so can't just use a bogstandard one) but I can't see any of these in stock either?!!

Aarrgh my commuter bike is unusable because of one sodding nut!

I think it's one of these but there's no definite manual or picture that I can find...

@njee20 is an expert on axles having been in your place a few weeks ago. He bought that many he might have one that fits or he might even make you one if you ask nicely as that was his best solution! 😉

It’s not because it’s part of the mech hanger as shown on this link is it?

Cheers Damascus, I'll try and find that thread before pestering NJee

Thanks IGM, mine is the ali not carbon version so it looks like that one has a retainer screw that wouldn't work on mine because of the housing shape (I bet this is a design amendment that they made to solve my issue !)

I'm thinking that some futher investigation tonight with a beer will either resolve it or it'll go to Cooksons! thanks all

@edhornby

I’m at risk of a slap here, but does the Ali one have a nut or is it straight into the frame?
The pictures of the current Ali ones look like there is no nut.

Of course if they revised the carbon one in one way and the Ali one in another, you’d have to ask if the original design was fit for purpose.
