You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
What's this descent like please - dull, good fun, steep, techy, singletrack, all-weather? And is it a viable add-on option after coming down Nan Bield on the way back to Staveley, and how much time would it add? Ta v much.
Have you been out of the country lately ?
Its been flattened.
It’s well worth adding on after Nan Bield. 10-15min climb/traverse to get to the top of it.
Top is flat on a smoothish path and then goes to fast rutted grass across the first 2 river crossings. It then gets rough loose and fast depending how brave you are.
River crossings can be entertaining as can the entrances into them. It’s a fun climb as well as a descent
Just never heard of it. Did Nan Bield yesterday and was wondering about anything convenient and good that we could add on the end next time. I don't know the area well. Cheers all.
Windydave...

Ah, bugger. Hadn’t seen that thread - A real shame
Yep, all gone.
Thank-you, F*** The Fells!
APF 🙁
It is a very easy climb now, but I can't bring myself to ride down it. Maybe after winter when there has been plenty of water action to reinstate the trail features.
Alternative from Nan Bield is over Green Quarter from Kentmere and down HP plantation.
