Insurance has paid out for my broken cervelo so its either a new rim brake road frame and swap the bits over or

a canyon endurance all full r8000 disc group set for £1600 delivered.

a synapse carbon 105 £1600 or ultegra £1900 disc

a 2017 supersix evo ultegra disc £1900

or a kenisis aithein frame disc and build up with a decent wheelset, ultegra hydro's I have and some of the kit of the broken bike total cost I think around £1350

any one ridden an can offer long term views on any of the above, i can test ride the cannondales and a diff model of canyon.

Some very different bikes there, what type of geometry do you prefer?

I have an Aithein as my winter bike and the geometry is quite agressive.

The Kinesis Aithein is great for racing, definitely not a long day in the saddle kind of bike. I love mine!

Wife tried a synapse and a supersix, bought the supersix. Just more fun to ride.

All depends what type of riding you do .The synapse and endurance are sportive/gran Fondo type bikes with slacker head angles and taller headtube. The super six is an agressive racer which shares geometry with the CAAD12 I use to race. If you're looking at the supersix, also consider the CAAD12. I went from a supersix Hi Mod (£2,500 frame) to a CAAD12 (£700) and still made 2nd cat road racing. The CAAD12 is ally but with the £££ saving you can upgrade the groupset and my CAAD12 SRAM red actually weighs the same as my supersix hi Mod ultegra. Don't believe the carbon hype, there's plenty of cat 1 and 2 racers on ally bikes now they're getting super light with the new manufacturing processes.

Of that, the Kinesis mainly as I like race geometry and hate BB30. For no other reason than to muddy the water, I'd also look at the Genesis Volare 853 disc.

The synapse is actually quite heavy for ancsrbon bike and it’s more of a long distance road bike than a racer as such. I was looking at that and a caad12 (as well as a Boardman disc carbon bike - I forget which one but it was about £1500).

I had a go on a Synapse but it felt a bit dead in relation to the caad12 which just encourages you to get it cranked over in corners and sprint out of them. I didn’t get to test ride the Boardman but in the end a sale Caad12 and the brand now won me over and I haven’t been disappointed. Mines only a 105 disc but it’s been good so far - I upgraded the wheels to Hunt 4season disc before riding it though as a lot of the standard Cannondale wheels are quite heavy.

I bought a Supersix Ultegra last year. Lovely to ride, not an endurance bike like some of your other choices but it was that extra zip and sharper handling that I really wanted as I already had a Defy advanced.

Surprisingly despite having more race geometry I don’t really find it less comfortable than the Defy.

In the spirit of recommend what you ride (if you are open to other ideas).  There are lots of good offers around on the Genesis Zero (either rim brake, disc brake or F&F).  Same F&F all the way through the range, and though a race bike is pretty comfortable as not at the extreme end geo wise.  Would budget for at least a carbon seatpost as well though, as alloy one used in all the builds and it's pretty heavy.  I've recently got the Z2 Disc and the F&F are ruddy lovely and it's a comfortable ride.

I am about to sell my CAAD12 Black Inc 2017 56cm frameset or rolling chassis if you wanted something rare and super cool... if it fits you

I've got a few friends who've been waiting months for a canyon so if you are in a hurry then maybe makes sure it is in stock.

They'll all be good bikes so it might come down to minor things like saddles, gearing and whether you think it'll be ready to ride or need a new stem type stuff.

In the spirit of STW I'm going to ignore your list a bit and add my own addition based on what I own. Have you looked at Rosebikes? Canyon like prices, custom specs and mine is lovely to ride. Done everything from hill climbs, road races and 700km rides on mine. Would go straight out and buy another.

Jonba which model? I have a Team GF which is great for what it is, but thd XLite 4 with Chorus looks just that little bit better, no silly rubby chainstay mounted brakes for a start!

Daimo had a go on a supersix ultegra rim brake version today likes the feel of it, also like the look of the caad12 do you notice any difference in how they ride, tempted to try a disc version and wonder if the bigger tyre clearance would level out any difference in ride quality

I picked up a Canyon Endurace 8.0 SL last year.  That year it had 105 front to back with disc brakes.  For the money you get a really good setup.  That was £1500 in the sale.

I've been very impressed, it's light enough, runs tubeless and its pretty comfortable.  Very stiff frame with bolt through front and back. 100km rides are straight forward with no pain or discomfort.  The only thing I have swapped out has been the saddle.

I can only compare the CAAD12 to the top of the range supersix (hi modulus carbon) frame .To be honest, I couldn't really tell the difference apart from really poor road surfaces where the carbon would dampen the shock.
