Bought a new epic with Specialized Hubs and DT Swiss 420SL rims. Was told these could be converted to tubeless and have tubeless valves in the sale pack but the rim tape is so poorly installed that there's no chance. Looking on the web it sounds like I need to get a kit. Anyway, I'm considering changing these wheel for my last purchase - Sun Ringle Black Flag Pros which are tubeless [was running them tubeless on the hardtail] and I'm pretty sure a lot lighter. Anybody know if this is right?
Also I've got Specialized The Captain S-Works [F] and Specialized Fast Trak LK S-Works [R] both 2Bliss models. Read some reviews which are a few years old that these are a bit of a nightmare to seal and prone to punctures. Anybody on here use them tubeless? Any comments to make on them? I'm running them with tubes at the moment and find them very fast and predictable, granted the weather is about to chance again shortly!
Got the Dyfi coming up in a few weeks so want to make the right decisions on tyre/wheel choices!
