Thinking of putting them on my Pompetamine which is used for shopping and pub visits. Seem to always end up with skinned shins so wondering whether anyone has tried them, or any other suggestions. Thnx

They seem to be the same pedal as the Nukeproof plastics... I didn't like those much, fairly short pins (which btw came wound in a bit and really needed to be wound all the way out) and quite a sticky-outy axle hump in the middle which took some pressure off the pins, they were fine with some shoes but pretty rubbish with others. (I tend to apply the trailbuilding-boots-test, any pedal'll do the job OK with five tens but only really good ones work with steeltoes 😉 ) I went back to my metal Nanos.

But they're light, surprisingly tough, and some better riders than me rate them higher

Thought they were similar to Nukeproof but cheaper. I'm in warmer climes, and shop/pub in flip-flops, would they be OK for those smaller duties, do you think? The cheapo metal things currently on my Pompey are awful and cut me to ribbons.

Mmm. Well, mine ended up on a commuter where they were great. But then I always wear a pair of old mtb shoes on the commuter, I'm not sure how much I'd have loved them on a pub bike which gets used with assorted random shoes. They'd do the job though

OK, for that price I'll give them a go … It's either flip-flops or dessie boots, and nothing rough, so must be an improvement over the cheese graters currently on there. Thanks fellas

If they are the same as the Nukeproof ones I think they are worth buying?! Nice and light, grippy enough and the bearings seem to hold up well.

Can't comment on longevity as only used mine a couple of times, but I'm a fan. Not too big, not too small, grippy in the wet. Long background of riding flats for BMX and these feel just right to me.

Given that they have steel pins, how exactly will these prevent the skinned shins? If it really is just for pub and shopping then just put some cheapo fully plastic pedals on.

Keeping feet on pedals protects shins

bought a set last week for my son's new bike, after reccomendations on here. They look good, well made and are very light compared to the stock pedals (Cube Acid). I can see the pins being a sore problem for 12 yr old shins though....
