I am looking at buying a fork from marlin in the description it's says
Fox Racing Shox 32 Float 140 RL FIT Performance with FIT damper and preload - rebound - lockout settings.
Does this mean no compression damping or is FIT the compression damping?
FIT is the good Fox damping system.
FIT is the damper cartridge, a FIT cartridge is a sealed unit keeping the damping oil separate from the lubrication oil for more consistent performance, compared to open bath damping which uses the same oil for both lubrication and damping but under heavy repeated hits isn't as consistent, and can cause the oil to cavitate (foam up) this is what the FIT cartridge is supposed to prevent..
If its an RL model the compression isn't externally adjustable and needs to be tuned by the likes of Loco or Mojo..
What about teralogic is compression adjustable on those
RL =rebound &lockout
RLC = rebound & compression & lockout
Teralogic is an auto lockout that unlocks the fork when it hits a bump then locks out automatically again when it's smooth, you can adjust the threshold for when it locks and unlocks but not compression, and they don't really work well with a full suss as they make the suspension feel unbalanced unless its a Spesh brain rear shock that basically does the same thing,
RLC's are the ones with adjustable low speed compression, non have adjustable high speed compression until you get to the 36 and 40 RC2's
The RL's work fine ime..
They don't seem such a bargain anymore
