2nd Puffer, Quad with Big George and buzzing about it.
After last year I said never again................ Never say never.
Solo here......3rd 24hr 😐 and 2nd Puffer. Didn't last the pace last year so hoping to go a little longer this year.
Bring it on. Its gonna be a classic.
TJ.
Good luck.
Keep your hip flash hidden from the marshals - they might requisition it - for medical research, legislation or even personal enjoyment!
I have to wait 'til the 22/23 May for my first solo effort.
Not sure how you'll have been able to put all the training in of late.
Ta ti29r
one previous 24 hr and a couple of team events. I really am no racer and now I am swinging between excitement and fear. Getting in the top half of the solos will be my Olympic gold.
3rd puffer here. Quad first time, solo last year, solo single speed this year. Managed the full 24hrs last year and squeezed out 15 laps. Starting to remeber what it took to do even that, getting a bit worried!!
My 5th solo 'Puffer on a SS.
Been sick as a dog for several weeks. Still weak as a kitten and shouldn't be doing it. Won't have any support because my wife doesn't realise what I'm up to yet. But this promises to be an epic 'Puffer, so it's not to be missed. 🙂
Target - 1 lap - even if I have to crawl round with the bike on my back. Doubt I'll last long enough to wear out a set of pads 🙁
Anything more than that and I'll be ecstatic.
Absolutely barmy. From inception to fruition, the whole idea is crazy.
Hats off to all involved.
yer all lightweights 😉 SERIOUSLY though major respect to all who are doing it.i would love to be fit enough to attempt the solo event.
Right, off to bed. Scatter kids to the 4 corners and NORTH!
Good luck all.

I am just trying to sort my kit. How many pairs of gloves is enough? I have 8 prs - some more suitable than others
Mad, the bloody lot of you.
Jammy buggers too.
2nd Puffer and looking forward to it. hats off to the local guys who have dug the course out of the snow. Gr8 job no puffer without you.
Good luck to everyone else have a fun time.
On the back of all the riding I've personally been doing this winter in the snow and enjoying the whole thing, I will hope to join you next year.
I wonder how many others this might also apply to?
It's retaining fitness levels over the Nov+ period that seems to escape me. Work really screws my routine up something chronic in the lead up to Xmas.
Look forward to some good picture galleries!
Race the puffer?! I'm not even going along to take photos - and I'm only an hour away!
Good luck everybody, especially Terra, Twinkly, Budge and Phil.
Just finishing my 2nd bowl of porridge and gallon of tea. First solo of the Puffer, 2nd solo 24. Only 3 other women soloing as far as I can work out as one has dropped out due to injury. C'mon the girls!!!!
Cheer me on from the comfort of your living rooms 🙂
Oh and can I say a big thanks in advance to the people coming along to support me? ROberta, Norm, Graham, You are stars and I'm humbled by your friendship 🙂

Go Alex Slaven. I was going to say I ride 'with' him, but thats stretching credibility. I'm more familiar with seeing him spin over a distant peak while barely breathing. He'll ride out to a trailhead to meet us, ride our legs off, then ride home. For a solo amateur rider he's dedicated. Bring on the darkness!
Jojo looking good ;-D
The boys are still there!
Twinkydave 2nd
Terrahawk 3rd
behind alex who is in first for leslie bike shop,21 minutes ahead woohoo!!!!
ahh...ahh... only 19mins now!! ah!!!!

4th Pair Team JMC M 23 23:52:18
Come on Budge and Phil!
Thanks for your support folks. I shall always wear it.
I am a bit disappointed with 9 laps and 26th - but after lap 7 I couldn't continue safely - not my legs or my head failed - but my arms - I just couldn't hold onto the bike anymore or steer it - the slushy sloppy ice descents really took it out of me.
Still - a reasonably respectable performance for an slow old man. I even overtook a few folk 🙂
I don't have to do it again either - I have completed it and that will do.
So thanks again to the marshals, medics and traildiggers without whom there would have been no event and thanks to STWites for the positive vibes - It helped
Good to meet you tj cheers for the jacket.
Fun times
