Anyone using one? How are you finding it? Any thoughts compared to a Reverb?
Yep... been using mine for the last 6 months now and its been flawless. Set up is a piece of piss, the action is very smooth and controlled, easy to make minor adjustments. The relatively compact remote lever makes bar set up painless as well. The lever gets a bit slick in the wet and can become a bit tricky to depress , not a big problem but it might benefit from some non-slip tape adding to the face of the lever. More important than all of that though is that it looks ace.
Cant comment on comparison to Reverb but my riding group all have them and they too have been excellent
Mines over a year old now, still silky smooth and the saddle has no play in any direction
Very happy with mine so far. Got it to replace a, twice failed, KS Lev. Action feels nicer than the Reverb and the remote lever is the best I've tried. Zero play in mine too and I'm 14st..
Not had mine long enough to comment on reliability but it really is a top class bit of kit and lovely to use. Build quality is miles better then my mates Reverb imo and there's no side to side movement, unlike the Reverb.
Sounds good. I know the damper is sealed and factory service only but is it possible to do a home service on the sliding elements?
Anyone know where is doing the cheapest Thomson Covert at the moment?
Oli
Any news on the home service?
I have one and it works perfectly ,i'm not sure they can be greased inside as all contact points are metal bands covered in PTFE.
Anyone have a 27.2 version ?
6 months of frequent intense use it looks and performs as new
There's bit of stiction after I've put it away wet but some teflon lube and a few up/down cycles restores its buttery smooth operation
I bet most of those are in the sealed damper. Most be a way inside to empty out all the crap.
I like mine very much. The first one went back under warranty - it was one of the first batch and developed some play. That wasn't ideal, but they warrantied it without quibbling. I agree that the remote is very well-designed and it is delightfully easy to use.
