Snapped going over a wee little drop (like 4"), luckily I had a bit of support of my weight and didn't slam down on to the back wheel (or snapped seatpost 😯 ).

I have had it for around 6+ years, so pretty good lifespan I guess 😀 . Will probably get a Reverb to replace it though, I've been using a shim to get this to fit my frame, plus I prefer the action (and looks) of the RS offering (though might be tempted by the KS Lev...)

I take it that's a gd? I didn't think you could snap a solid post like that.

just read it was 4 inch not foot. is that actually classed as a drop, isn't it just a bump?

maybe you need to lose a bit of weight?

Was keeping a bit of weight on the saddle as I've been having issues with an annoying creak from the seat tube, wasn't a drop, just riding off the curb, surprised the heck out of me (and yes, I do need to lose a wee bit of weight 😳 )...

Guess you've found out why the seat tube was creaking though 😉

I've been having issues with an annoying creak from the seat tube,

On a positive note it looks likes you may have identified the source of the creak. 🙂

edit - Beaten to it

Thats what scares me about GDs, the telescopic shaft seems very narrow. Plus its solid, which I think makes it weaker than an equivalent tube.

Indeed, was driving me bonkers, had removed the seatpost and cleaned everything, then reinstalled with fibre grip, didn't fix it, so tried grease instead, this happened after the second re-installation
