Low bulk, slim yet harden on impact and have good side protection.

Dakine trail skins. Comfy, light, protective and cheapish

Trailskins? Good call.

'max protection from accidents and all day prorection' do seem pretty appealing though.. 😆

In your knickers? I thought they were insoles for roller-skates

(My father was the pilot for the advert. The actual jumping was done by a charming Saffer. Called Ron. 🙂 )

I'm 3 rides in now on a pair of g-forms. I forget I'm wearing them and they have been tested once, they worked. Not sure on long term durability though.

I also ordered from CRC for trial.....

Fox Enduro - thicker sleeve than g-forms, better graze protection, less (not enough) padding.

The others below are all a bit thicker more traditional style pad:

POC VPD 2.0 - a bit more pad than I wanted, too close to my Kyle Straits.

POC VPD Air - Nice light pad, just didn't seem to want to stay in place on my knee. YMMV. I might actually try a size down, as I did like them.

IXS Flow - Again a nice pad but not as nice as the POC air and also not the most comfortable fit on me.

The TLD K5400 don't look to bulky either.

Dainese Trail Skins are comfy to wear all day up and down and have a good amount of protection considering. But like motorcycle protection, if you want the most it is not thin or light

Trail skins here too

Have used them like knee warmers when it's a bit chilly

Went with G Form three years ago after trying some on in Verbier. Have had numerous crashes including writing off a frame of in Les Arc and also smashing a helmet. They have always saved my knees and elbows so I dont have scabs and bruises when wearing a skirt and strappy top. Wished I wore the shin guards as Im sporting scabby shins from rock strikes last weekend. Throw them in the wash every now and then. Abigale has a couple of small holes in the back of hers from pedal pins.

Been happy with my trail skins so far, forget I'm wearing them really. Not property crashed tested them yet and hope I don't have to either.

+1 on the Enduro article. They do a serious job when testing.

POC VPD Air - light, they stay in place on my knees and I forget they're there when riding. Make sure you get the right size.

Wish the elbows were a little closer fit, but they are slimmer than the 'normal' POC VPD 2.0 I have.

Haven't tested crashability of the Airs yet, but the POC DH knee pads were like crashing into a comfy armchair.

Also used to use the Fox Enduro - was never impressed as way too thin and no impact protection. And after a year they stretched so much at the thigh that they now constantly slip down. Good for graze resistance only!

The Dainese arrived today. A tad snug. Do they slacken abit with age? I ordered large I imagine XL would be too big. Otherwise they are spot on for some rollerskating bodyform advert action fun 8)

i have the dainese (large) and they are pretty comfy, offer good protection, but bulky.

i like the Bliss Arg Minimalist Knee which i have in a medium, but they are forever slipping, and i've torn mine, as they are more like lycra with the blue pad
