Better with UST tyres in my experience. Get some sealant in and you are unlikely to get deflation issues over time and less chance of a puncture.

I need to replace my Schwalbe tyres because they are worn out. No punctures in a couple of thousand miles. But I did top up the sealant before Xmas.

I did this a few weeks ago.

Bought a set of Flow wheels and while waiting for a set of Schwalbe Tubeless tyres to turn up tried to fit my old Kenda none tubeless tyres because it 'can be done' according to some of the posts forums.

Maybe it can but it would take a fair bit of time/luck/sweating to get them inflated.

I fitted the tubless tyres onto the tubeless rims when they turned up and just pumped them up, no drama, no problems. I am using Stans sealant to make sure they stay up.

I am now convinced I could remove the tyre on the trails, fix a big hole if needed and them reinflate with my mini pump. Exactly what I wanted.

I tried to go tubeless using a Joe's kit at the end of last year. First wheel not a problem, done, dusted, perfect. Second wheel a real PITA, needed CO2 & soapy suds.

First ride wheel 2 blew the tyre off twice. Reinflated it with CO2 after the first time, second time I threw a tube in it. That was november, and the tube is still in the tyre at the moment.

I'm not convinced for me that tubless offers any advantages, but the fact I've got all the kit I need means I'll probably have a play with the second wheel again at some point.

With a UST rim and UST tyres there are no issues and they are a great improvement. No punctures since January so far and loads of grip at low pressures with the rolling resistance.

It works fine so long as you don't shout.
