As the title suggests. At the moment I’m riding an xl 2018 Jekyll that I love but work and home life get in the way of maintaining a good level of fitness so I’m thinking of getting a emtb.

I’ve sort of narrowed it down to Moterra 1, Moterra SE or Trek Rail 9.8.

I like that the Moterra is very close to the Jekyll in travel and geometry but I don’t like the display on the 1. Just think first crash that’s gone. If I’m honest I’m not a big fan of having a display in general. Do you have to run a display with Bosch motor set up?

In a review for the Rail the reviewer said the motor was loud, is this the case?

Does anyone have any experience with these bikes?

from everything I've read, you do need the display with the bosch motors, it wont run without it, and annoyingly the display has a seperate battery that needs to be charged, if it goes flat the motor wont run.

I agree the display on th ebosch bikes looks terrible, and massively like it will get smashed off in a crash

Nicolai bikes say they have created a mount to do just that for their ebike, but I havent seen annything on the open market that does the same thing
