Is Carn Ban Mor still enjoyable after all the drainage ditches have been put in or should I think of something else... needs to be within a couple of hours drive from Edinburgh.

If you do the two Munros, especially Sgurr Gaoith, and treat it as a great day out in the hills with a sort of long trail centre descent it's still worth doing IMO. Some rock staircases and lots of waterbars to make it reasonably interesting
