Hi,

Having completed a race yesterday and hit my own target of less than two hours, I looked at the field and thought, "if I was 5 minutes" quicker how much higher up the list I would have come. Always ridden trail and XC with flats, but am thinking about SPDs.

Is there anything to look out for, certain types better than others, there seem to be a few different brands, I don't want to spend a fortune, but are the shoes all much of a muchness and does having a pedal platform around the cleat make much difference, I assume it adds stability.

Any recommendations or tips for buying?
