Hmm, not sure! 😆
Straight through a broken bottle of maddog2020 at 45kph that had obviously been launched from a car at some point. Any faster and I'd have been off I think!
20km from the nearest train station, so had to fix somehow, patch on the inner and a folded up bit of paper did the job, thankfully!
And now for the not so subtle what tyre part of the thread! 😆 Just using these wtb exposure 30s that came with the bike, but I know nothing about road tyres. Should I just replace like for like, or should I go something different/better? I do like these tyres mind, the roll fast, but they do seem to pick up glasss (currently woes excluded, it's something I've noticed in the 2 weeks I've been riding them.
Any thoughts!

New bike excuse, for sure 🙂
The bike's only 2 weeks old, don't think i can wangle that! 😆
I used to carry a sewing kit back when tyres were more fragile. Looks like you need one too 🙂
Continental sport contact. Cheap, roll fast and I've had worn out pairs with zero punctures. Awesome.

interesting, how's that work? do you just use normal thread? and does it last? Guessing you need to sow under the rubber? save the road wearing down the thread, eh?
Guessing a bit of superglue on top might help too?
hmm, might try it.
Any thoughts!
Yeah: I had no idea you could still buy Mad Dog 20/20. I used to get pissed on that as an underaged yoof!
haha, aye it's still rife up here! 😆
cut an old tyre into patches, epoxy them to the inside bang job done, works with tubeless too!

nah, no danger I am trusting that! 😆 toddles off to buy a new tyre!
Will be fine, Ive got a schwalble G one thats more repair than tyre at this point with nearly 1k miles on. Holds air fine tubelessly.
I’d be replacing that tyre for sure! Bearing in mind it’s on a road bike you could be doing 40nph on that or more on a big road downhill.
I’ve tried a few road tyres over the last few years - Schwalbe Luganos lasted commuting 2-3 days a week for just over a year before I fancied changing them out. Think I only punctured once or twice in that time and they still had life left - but they do roll slow (25c size). So I fancied a change - currently got 25c Conti GP4000’s in which are definitely quicker / maybe more comfy and so far (touch wood) haven’t punctured in a few months of riding.
Prior to that I’ve tried Michelin Lithium 2’s which were ok - quite fast in 23c size but a bit more puncture prone. However they were very cheap. Also used Rubino’s (I think) which were much like the Lithium’s only punctured a bit more.
Overall the Conti’s are the best so far all round - but you have to pay a bit more for them.
