You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
1. Despite being an excellent fork, the Reba 120 maxle is not quite enough fork for a HL 5spot. I overran it a couple of times in the outrageously fast Mendip conditions last night.
2. A Maxxis ADvantage 2.25 (and by extension, the Aspen 2.25 on the rear), run tubeless with spooge are a wee bit too light duty for riding a 5spot in a manner that such ideal conditions engender. 😛 😳
3. Its possible to remount said tyres in the field with one CO2 cannister and much fastidiousness of tyre bead and rim cleanliness.
4. I need to look even further ahead when travelling really rather quickly.
5. Fate can be kind. I came away completely uninjured and even rode it out. 8)
That is all. Carry on.
🙂
Mendips are running fast ATM aren't they!!
I learnt last night on my ride that:
1, SS still rules, beat my friends to the top of the steep road hill.
2, Just cos you might have gears doesn't make you fast
3, Death grip rocks!!
4, 3 pints of proper zider and no lights makes an interesting journey home
outrageously fast Mendip conditions
You're not wrong... high speed 😯 moments aplenty!
Where was this little incident of yours?
They certainly are.
I'd normally be on an SS, but I'm having a period of transition to another frame, the the full squidge is out for a few weeks.
I'm not any quicker on the geared FS (other than on the rough stuff) than the SS.
Postal. Just got it utterly, utterly wrong due to unaccustomed speed! 😯 Once I'd learned my lesson, the rest of the evening was fine. (and fast)
Classic!
We were up that way as well, lovely night to be out.
